Our experience with airlines and travel clients

JSD has a long history of designing, manufacturing and distributing corporate clothing for our clients in the airline and travel industry. British Airways were one of our first major contracts – we were asked to create promotional and travel shop uniforms for 500 BA staff, which at the time was one of our biggest orders to date. We have grown a lot since then; however, we continue to work extensively with clients in the travel industry – most recently supplying bespoke design uniforms to The Virgin Group, Eurostar, Chiltern Railways and Arriva Trains Wales.

Understanding your brand and requirements

The first part of our process is to listen and to develop a detailed understanding of your brand. This allows us to design and manufacture corporate workwear that reflect your unique identity. Furthermore, our specialist in-house teams have the in-depth knowledge needed to advise our clients throughout the entire process, from the initial design to the uniform roll-out, stock management and forecasting.

We recognise that airline clients require stylish garments that are ergonomically designed and durable, to withstand the demands of changing climates and long-haul flights. Our team have experience working with multi-national organisations, across multiple continents, and understand how to adapt our designs to cater for different cultures and climates.

Uniforms that staff love to wear

Working with Eurostar, new uniform designs were introduced to employees at 12 focus groups spread across three countries. We recognise that the employee’s opinion of their uniform is vital, which is why we go to great lengths to ensure that uniforms are loved by staff. With Eurostar, all of the employees took part in sizing days, to ensure a perfect fit. Road shows were staged, where employees could vote on designs; 55 employees then wear tested the uniforms and resampling followed, until Eurostar and its employees were content.

Working with The Virgin Group, were asked to incorporate Virgin’s very distinct brand identity into fit-for-purpose corporate wear. Our expert team created a range of garments, for a variety of roles, which included tailored suits, shirts, polo shirts and blouses, knitwear and coats. We also designed a new winter coat that could be worn across all job grades and put employees comfort first. Virgin have since told us that the JSD design has changed the way that their staff wear coats!

We work in partnership with our clients to plan and manage the distribution logistics, and a fail-safe launch. Our team of dedicated account managers develop an understanding of our clients’ operations and tailor our service accordingly.

With over 34 years of experience in designing, manufacturing and distributing uniforms, we are experts in our field.

We are able to manufacture corporate uniforms to order, meaning that we offer a flexible range of sizes and have previously provided uniforms that ranged from size 6 to size 30, along with 2600 made to measure garments.

Total contract management for airline uniforms

A JSD Account Manager is assigned to each client to ensure everything runs smoothly, guiding you through every stage of the process. After the uniform roll out, our Account Managers continue to support our clients by monitoring stock levels with Prima – our cutting-edge stock management system. This allows us to predict when staff uniforms will be needed and deliver them on time. Our Account Managers can also help with bespoke reporting, and can deal with sizing issues or swaps from our high- tech warehouse.
